We accept a variety of payment options. Here is a list, with some notes:
Bitcoin ($BTC): We were the first company in Houston to accept bitcoin for rent payment, way back in the $100/coin days. We’re happy to offer it again. Head on over to pay.fatproperty.com There are two ways to pay. If your property is listed on the drop down, your payment will automatically be added to your payment ledger. If your property is not on the list, don’t worry. Just click the ‘I don’t see my property’ button. You’ll manually type your info and a manager will apply the payment to your ledger. (fee: $0. In fact, we’re offering a $25 credit to any payments made with bitcoin for the rest of 2026)
ACH (Electronic Check): This is the best / recommended way to pay. It’s typically reserved for existing tenants (vs. deposit payments which typically need to be done via certified funds). Payments are made by logging into the tenant portal. If you do not see ACH payments as an option, please reach out to payments@fatproperty.com or your property manager. Note: if you’ve had a recent online payment reversed, or are late on rent, ACH payments may be temporarily disabled. (fee: $2)
Money Order / Cashiers Check: Payment should be to “Fat Property“. If anyone asks you to pay someone else, email admin@fatproperty.com ASAP (for a reward). Payments can be dropped off at our main HQ (3800 Garrott St, Houston TX 77006) or the onsite office if your property has one. If you live in a property with an onsite office, please confirm the drop off location with your property manager (fee: $0)
Credit card: Payments using credit card must be made by tenants, using our tenant portal . Note: While this can be a pricey option, we are just passing along our costs (fee: $2.99% + $2)
PayNearMe: Tenants can get a QR code from the tenant portal. With this QR code, you can go into almost any CVS, Walgreens, ACE cash express, Walmart, Kroger, or 7-11 and pay your rent in cash. Your payment will be automatically and instantly applied to your rental ledger. Here are their locations. (fee: $4 paid to the store)
Cashapp: If you want to pay with cashapp you’ll need to buy bitcoin within the app first. Then go to pay.fatproperty.com and send a bitcoin payment. For now we are discounting the amount of bitcoin needed to pay rent to make sure any transaction fees are covered. And offering a $25 credit for each month BTC is used to pay rent. That might change at some point but we’re trying to keep the conversion rate under 1:1 to help make this a more attractive option… (fee: $0)
Zelle: User ID is admin@fatproperty.com (note, if you’re asked to verify any other info, please contact your property manager or email payments@fatproperty.com). Click/tap here for QR code.
Because Zelle is not integrated with our property management software, please make sure to make your property manager aware of the payment so they can match it against what came in. For residents, we’d strongly suggest using ACH via the tenant portal if possible. It costs less, is easier, and shows up instantly. (fee: $5)

Chime: While we can’t take Chime directly via another Chime account, you are able to send payments with Chime via ACH. Contact us at payments@fatproperty.com if you’d like to pay us via Chime and we can provide our ACH details. This will allow you to set up one-time or recurring ACH payments through your own bank. Because Chime is not integrated with our property management software, please make sure to make your property manager aware of the payment so they can match it against what came in. For residents, we’d strongly suggest using ACH via the tenant portal if possible. It costs less, is easier, and shows up instantly. (fee: $5)
Other: Any bitcoin wallet that supports sending BTC to an external address. This includes Cashapp, Coinbase, PayPal, Venmo, Strike, etc. (Fee: $0)
In addition to all of the above, we also accept Money orders and cashiers checks (must be written to Fat Property. CASH IS NEVER ACCEPTED. If you’re asked by a property manager to pay cash, or asked to leave a money order blank (or to put any name other than Fat Property), please email payments@fatproperty.com for a reward.
If you’re asked to pay via “Certified funds“, that basically means any of the above payments other than credit card or ACH.
