Note to residents regarding COVID-19 and Fat Property

We are all responding to the challenges brought forward by COVID-19, commonly known as Cronavirus.  Many of you have asked about office hours, work requests, and rent.

Office hours:  As of today, March 18, all Fat Property offices are open.  This includes our Montrose headquarters at 3800 Garrott and all onsite offices. Our office hours are still Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm.  We’re still doing apartment showings during office hours, and on Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm (by appointment).  We obviously ask if you are showing any symptoms that you delay your showings or office visits.

Maintenance request:  Almost all maintenance staff are working to respond to requests. We’ve asked anyone who shows even slight symptoms to stay at home.  As such, things might be slightly slower than normal but any work request logged via the tenant portal will be responded to.  Also, if you or a family member is showing symptoms, please delay placing any work requests that require entry into your residence.

Rental payments:  Rent is still due by the 1st and can be paid online via the tenant portal, or using “pay near me”, or by dropping off a cashiers check / money order to our office.

We are working hard to make sure our employees can stay working and receive a paycheck. While we understand people may be impacted by employment levels, as a small company, we are not in a position to allow any rent to be paused or waived.  Almost all rent collected goes to pay banks, utilities, property taxes for schools, insurance, maintenance staff, and our property managers.

If you think you’re going to have a problem paying rent on the first, please start discussions with friends, family, or government agencies in advance of the 1st.  We have heard news that the government may be sending out checks to people to help with what we’re all going through.

We hope everyone and their family stays safe during this time.
